Enchanted Plants Nursery is a UK based nursery specialising in rare, unusual, and fascinating plants and seeds for growers, collectors, and preservation minded enthusiasts. Alongside live plants and seeds, we also offer selected botanical art, botanical jewellery, nature inspired apparel and accessories, plus other botanical curiosities.
Founded by Michael Robinson in 2020 and based in the scenic countryside of South West England, the nursery grew from a private plant collection that had been expanding for many years, into something much larger: a dedicated and carefully curated home for a variety of nature based products, including remarkable plants with interesting histories, distinct character, and cultural significance. From desirable cultivars and classic clones to plants with deep traditional associations, our collection reflects a long-standing fascination with species that offer far more than surface appeal alone.
Our Mission
From its earliest roots, our purpose has remained the same: to grow, preserve, and make available plants, seeds and unique nature based products to everyone who shares our fascination for them.
Many of the plant species, cultivars, and clones we maintain were incredibly difficult to source. In many cases, they could only be obtained from private individuals who had spent decades building their own collections, and who entrusted them to us so they could be preserved and shared more widely. Enchanted Plants Nursery exists not only to offer these plants to others, but also to help keep important genetics in cultivation and available for future generations of growers.
Preservation, Provenance, and Plant History
Preservation of genetics is one of the nursery’s core aims. We take great care to maintain genuine lines, protect cultivar purity, and document provenance wherever possible. We are deeply passionate about the history and origins of the plants we grow, and in helping others understand what makes particular cultivars, clones, and seed lines significant.
This commitment is reflected not only in our plant and seed collections, but also in the growing body of information published on our website. Through our Plant Info & History section, we explore the stories behind a wide range of plants, cultivars, and botanical lineages, helping to preserve both the plants themselves and the invaluable knowledge that surrounds them.
In many ways, we see ourselves as archivists and custodians of living plants. Our collection is incredibly special to us; these plants hold history, and profound meaning. Without careful documentation, cultivation, and sharing, valuable genetics can disappear from cultivation surprisingly quickly. Our aim is to ensure that these living botanical legacies are never lost to time.
Breeding and Selection
Alongside preserving established lines, we’re also committed to careful breeding and selection. Enchanted Plants Nursery works to develop and refine new lines, selecting for quality, vigour, and desirable characteristics while keeping accurate lineage records.
This includes successful breeding projects with Salvia divinorum, as well as the development and preservation of selected Papaver somniferum cultivars. Over time, this work has become an important part of what we do. We’re not just maintaining existing plant lines, but also contributing new ones, bred and selected here at the nursery with care and intention. Our most recent breeding project involves Phalaris aquatica ‘Tanit’, where we’re currently growing 250 seed-raised plants. These will undergo rigorous testing to identify the most exceptional specimens for future propagation and dissemination through our nursery.

Although rare and unusual plants remain at the heart of EPN, our interests have naturally branched out into other nature-led pursuits. This has grown into our Botanical Lifestyle range, which includes botanical art, botanical jewellery, and nature-inspired apparel and accessories. These additions reflect the same wider appreciation that has always shaped the nursery: a profound love of nature in all its forms, and a desire to share that fascination with others.
A Family Supported Nursery
What began as one grower’s passion has blossomed into a family-supported nursery. While Enchanted Plants Nursery is led by Michael, it continues to thrive with the help of family members who contribute across all areas of the business, from seed sowing and propagation through to product creation and marketing. That shared contribution has played an essential part in growing the nursery into what it is today.
What We Aim to Be
As a nursery, we aim to be known for more than just rarity. We want to be trusted for our quality, authenticity, and in-depth information. Whether someone comes to us looking for a hard-to-find plant, a genuine named clone, or reliable growing guidance, our goal is always to offer something of real value.
We also hope that Enchanted Plants Nursery will continue to grow into something even broader in the years ahead. One of our long-term aspirations is to establish a botanical garden open to the public, creating a space where people can experience these remarkable plants growing together in one place.
